Is SafeCart really free?
Yes. Phishing detection, purchase tracking, daily breach scans, and chargeback help are free forever, with no ads. Premium ($2.49/mo) and Family ($4.99/mo) are optional and only add Gmail receipt matching, faster breach alerts, and cross-device sync.
Can SafeCart see my card number or passwords?
No. SafeCart never reads or transmits your card details or passwords. It detects when a card field is present so it can warn you on risky pages — but the numbers you type never leave the page, and card payments for subscriptions are handled entirely by Stripe.
Will it slow down my browsing or flag real stores?
No. SafeCart returns a fast local verdict first and caches results, so there's no noticeable lag. A curated allowlist of well-known retailers keeps legitimate stores from being false-flagged.
What data actually leaves my device?
Very little. Phishing checks send the checkout URL to a privacy-preserving proxy; breach checks send only public store domains. Purchases are stored locally. Gmail receipt-matching (Premium) runs in your browser. You can read the exact details in the privacy policy.
Which browsers are supported?
SafeCart runs on Google Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers (it's built on Manifest V3). Microsoft Edge support is on the way.
How do I cancel a subscription?
Open the SafeCart popup, go to your subscription, and click "Manage subscription" to open the Stripe billing portal. You can cancel anytime and keep all the free features.
